Seeing his customers’ businesses grow is what satisfies our senior account manager Paul most. He is the person to turn to if you need strategic business advice. He will tell you how exactly you can increase your revenues, which investments you should or should certainly not make and which costs could better be cut.
After making a career as COO in Cape Town and later in Sydney and Melbourne, the South African-born was looking for an operating base in Europe, together with his family. As CFO on demand, he now uses all his knowledge and experience for the clients of Holthaus. "Sometimes a client grows so quickly that they switch from sole proprietorship to a B.V., a private limited liability company. What also happens is that an existing B.V. becomes so large that a financial audit becomes mandatory every year," Paul explains. "That is the crown on my work."
His portfolio consists mainly of e-commerce companies. "I am their first point of contact and clients can also turn to me if they have legal or tax questions. In that case, I will listen very carefully what they need and bring them in contact with the right person within Holthaus."
Because of his identification with the culture and language, the Netherlands had long been on the South African's list. "After moving here, my two sons became fluent in Dutch within a couple of months," Paul proudly says. "This was our best decision ever. On weekends, we always head out to visit a city or jump on our bikes for a rewarding trip along the Amstel River."
